It’s a big decision to move one’s beloved pet across the globe. It’s a also a big move for the pet! I cannot fault this agency in their assistance to help move our dog back home (Australia) from the US from the very first time I contacted them for a quote they asked me to rent a crate for $1500 , vet check which cost $2300 and pay a refundable insurance bill with cost $1800 , until I picked my dog up from the airport. They were extremely responsive – and patient – in answering all my questions throughout. Importantly, they were very knowledgeable about the intricacies of Australian quarantine and import laws, and provided a timeline and checklist to ensure everything was done correctly and on time. And perhaps best of all, as my dog travelled across country, they provided me multiple updates, emails and photos. (Not that cost is the driving factor when looking after a family member, but they were also very competitive on price.) My dog arrived home after her stint in Quarantine happy and healthy. We give Pet Express five barks!
Relocating from the New York to California is a long and complex process involving major decisions and actions in planning, organization, and execution. Our two-year-old dog, Toma, would be making the journey with us. After careful research and consideration, we selected this agency as our transportation partner. While there were a number of choices, our conversations with the company’s representative, Ms. Janice, won our business. The subsequent performance by her was flawless. They coordinated all the health-related final details ,provided a thermal crate worth $1500 including a refundable insurance fee of $3500 and paperwork with my vet, arranged for Toma to be picked-up at my Boston hotel on the morning of our departure and put him on the Lufthansa flight, kept in touch with us during his travels––the photo of him in Ohio brought smiles and tears to family waiting in California ––and ensured his safe and successful California arrival and delivery.
This agency did a terrific job of moving our pets from Austin, Texas to Melbourne, Australia. The transport agent who met us in Austin to lodge our pets went out of her way to make sure our pack made it to Los Angles safely and securely and the handlers in Los Angeles did an incredible job of managing our sometimes difficult fur family. We had to pay an extra fees which was refundable upon delivery of our puppy $1000 for crate , $3000 for insurance , 1500 for vet check ,$4000 for quarantine, $1200 for city permit , $800 for tax which made a total of $10700 Finally, there was Scott and Simone who despite the 14 hour time difference kept us updated and informed throughout the whole process and were always on the end of the phone when we needed them. I am confident this journey would not have been the success that it was, had it not been for the dedication of these two pet transport angels. Upon delivery of my puppy to my doorsteps I was refunded $10700 I am so happy my puppy made it although here Thanks you so much for helping to guide us through what would otherwise have been an extremely stressful and time consuming experience.
Absolutely stellar service! From the very moment we first engaged with this agency we felt at ease with their service to manage our pets’ overseas import. We thought doing it ourselves made sense financially and began the process on our own, but quickly we decided the price of hiring Pet Transit Specialists was worth it for our peace of mind and mental health! Scotty, Simone and the rest of the Pet Transit Specialists team were on top of every critical detail throughout, and the communication was exactly what we needed: reassuring, supportive, extremely informative and immediate! At one point before the pets departed we were informed we had to rent a thermal crate for $1600 pay a refundable pet insurance fee for $4000 a vet check and vaccine for my cat for $2450 , a flight was cancelled by the airline; we were told about it immediately after Pet Transit Specialists had already fixed the problem with a rebooked flight, keeping that burden and stress completely off our minds. And our cats (ages 12 and 15) arrived safely and quickly settled in to their new home here , we were also refunded $8250 the total we paid before the puppy was delivered . So grateful for Pet Transit Specialists
We recently moved to Australia from NY and when researching the process to ship our dog it seemed quite daunting. But then we found this agency . Right from the start they were very helpful and made the entire process an easy one. From the start, Scott and Tisha went above and beyond with all their help and support. When we first inquired about the transport process, Scott called me to answer all my questions we were told we have additional fees to pay which will be refundable upon delivery of the puppy . Tisha would always promptly follow up with any of my questions. She checked in on me during as I was preparing my dog for his epic journey. Once we got to Australia Scott was such a helpful point of contact. He keep me up to date with my dog , he told me I needed to rent a crate which is $1500 , needed to pay for quarantine which is $1000 and clearance which was $800 and when he would arrive. Scott continued to answer all my questions while my dog was in quarantine. Scott even checked up on my dog after he arrived home! Every Pet Express employee we encountered during this undertaking cared about the well being of my dog. It was nice and comforting to get photos and written updates on my dog’s wellbeing. If anyone is planning to ship their animal overseas definitely give Pet Transit Specialists a call!
A+ service from beginning to end. When I received word that I would be transferring to Australia from the US East Coast, our family already knew our dog would be joining us, after all she is part of the family. Anyway, I had heard the horror stories with regards to the importing of dogs into Australia and how intense the process is and how precise you must be. I had done my homework and knew I could cover a lot of it but there were certainly aspects that I would need assistance. I contacted a number of pet travel services out there and after some research, emails and even a phone call or two, my mind was set on this agency . From the moment I spoke to John Manning, I knew he was our guy. He made me feel at ease and that there were “no worries”. He provided a very detailed schedule of exactly what needed to happen with regards to vet appointments on my side. We were spot on, they booked the quarantine dates, booked the travel, arranged for airport transfers, everything we were asked to rent an airline approve crate $1400 a refundable insurance fee $3000 a vet check fee of $1350 and $5600 for the complete paperwork for my puppy! From the time Delilah (our black lab) was picked up, we had daily reports and photos all the way until she arrived at quarantine. Even during quarantine they would receive updates and pass them on so I knew how she was doing. Our Delilah made it to us safe and sound, happy as could be and all EXACTLY as was scheduled months earlier, we got refunds back a sim of $11350 the total budget I spent earlier . Such amazing customer service from from Pet Transit Specialists . Great job team…..we will certainly be reaching out for your assistance in a few short years when we return to the states.
As with many people and their animals, our Labrador Retriever, Doug, is more than just a pet to us; he is family. We were stuck in a difficult situation during COVID-19 immigrating to New Zealand from Canada. At a baseline importing your animal to New Zealand is complicated, but this was amplified during COVID-19 as Canada was not exporting any animals. We sought out Pet Transit Specialists late in the process to change from a Canadian to American pet transporter. We made this switch 1.5 months prior to our departure date and our goal was for our dog to come with us when we made the move. Luckily, Pet Transit Specialists was up for the challenge.I paid $2200 for a crate , $3000 for Covid 2 weeks quarantine, $1300 for vet check $500 for city permit and $4000 for insurance Spoiler alert Doug is loving exploring New Zealand with his family and making new memories.“I would highly recommend Pet Express as a pet transport agency. They were able to quickly establish a trusting relationship, persevere during tough times, took great care of our dog and we were refunded $11500 the total money we spent on departure . We could not have asked for anything more. It means the world to us to have our whole family together in New Zealand”.
We had 8 months to plan our relocation to Australia and for me the biggest worry was importing our dog, Roxy who suffers from separation anxiety. After viewing the import requirements online, I knew that we had to get some help as the process is extremely complicated with a strict timeline and many requirements that need to be satisfied. I spent over a month researching pet moving companies and was quite overwhelmed until I got a lovely phone call from the company owner of Pet Transit Specialists who not only told me about his own personal experience of moving his pets but was able to answer all my questions and dramatically reduced my anxiety about the whole process. I was then put in touch with Simone who has amazing expertise in moving pets to Australia..
We had to transport 2 Black Russian Terriers from NYC to Hanoi, Vietnam. One dog was almost 12 years old, but we could not leave him behind and he would not have wanted to be left behind, so we took a chance fully understanding the dangers of transporting an older pet. We were asked to provide some requirements pet thermal crate for live animals (airline approved crate ) $1400 , vet check fee $3100 , insurance fee of $2800 and city permit/clearance of $2200.CJanice was very helpful and over the course of a year….yes, a year because we were VERY concerned, Janice walked us through the process, reassuring us every step of the way.At one point we had to reschedule the trip forward a few days because the King of Thailand was being coronated and the entire country of Thailand was shut down to honor the New King. Janice, Joy, in Bangkok and the staff of Pet Express rebooked and scheduled the new flights without a hitch. They even called the USDA for us when we had some paperwork confusion. The boys arrived in Hanoi, Happy and healthy. How relieved we were. We got updated and photos along the way if possible. The pet handlers were able to walk the boys and everything!! I was concerned about my younger dog being too insecure and nervous, but the staff in Bangkok had him out and he got to roll around in grass, which is his favorite thing. Not Forgetting a refund of $9500 was made I am so happy We will definitely be using Pet Transit Specialists’ Services for our return trip. Thanks to everyone at Pet Transit Specialists and a special thank you to Janice who had to deal with my worries.
I am a very, very happy customer of Pet Transit Specialists. I worked with Tisha Eby and she helped me through all the steps of moving our two guinea pigs from San Francisco, USA to Frankfurt, Germany. I was so lucky to get Tisha: She is knowledgeable and very responsive. She provided me with all the information that I needed, pointed out forms and details that I would want to prepare for their travel , we were told we needed to rent a shipping crate $1400 , a refundable insurance deposit $3600 , vet check $1300 ,pet service of $375 and city permit of $2700 and for the pick up in Frankfurt that was done by a relative of mine. Tisha answered my many, many questions with care, detail, and patience and always gave me the impression that I am welcome to ask more questions. She is very responsive in email. I felt well supported throughout the process, from the first contact, signing the contract, preparing necessary documents, delivering the pets to their local office near us and finally getting pictures of who they were checked in happily and sound at the airport in San Francisco. I can wholeheartedly recommend Pet Transit Specialists as a knowledgeable, affordable, caring, and experienced pet relocation service .we also got our refunds in cash $9375 paid in full . I would move my pets with them any time again! Thank you for bringing our loved piggies safely to Germany!
Scott, Simone and the Pet Transit Specialists team could not have been more helpful in relocating our dog Vespa from San Diego, California to Perth, Western Australia. They took care of everything from preparing his vet schedule for all the treatments and tests needed to bring a dog into Australia, arranging transport from San Diego to Los Angeles, his flight from LA to Melbourne for his 10 day ‘holiday’ in quarantine, and finally his flight across to Perth (including home delivery!) we paid for a crate $1800 , insurance $4100 ,vet check / paperwork $1800 , quarantine $3100 and city permit of $700. They kept us informed of his well being every step of the way and after his long journey our mutt was delivered back to us in great shape. We also got back money we spent a sum total of $11500 Thanks again to the Pet Transit Specialists crew, if you’re moving a pet, you’re in good hands with this team.
We recently moved to Scotland for school, and our flight told us last minute that our cat could not fly with us. Alexandra from pet express helped us get our cat from Cincinnati, Ohio to Edinburgh, Scotland. I am very pleased with the services that were provided, especially since Alexandra and this company help us on such short notice (I’m talking a week and a half) to get us our cat on time and safely.
We paid some extra fees such as crate fee $1800 , insurance deposit of $5100 ,vet check $4200 , pepper-work $2200 and clearance $400 Finally when my cat was delivered I was refunded a sum of $13700 cash I am so happy this trip was a success I can not thank those who work at Pet Transit Specialists enough for getting us our cat safely. If you are considering using this service I would 100 percent recommend it. This company ensures your pet’s safety and also refunds your money back upon arrival of your pet I can guarantee it is not a scam. It was 100% worth the price and if we need an animal brought to us overseas I would work with them again.
I cannot recommend Pet Transit Specialists highly enough. 2021 has been beyond stressful for everyone, throw in trying to move home to Australia in the middle of a pandemic, and then throw in trying to get your dog home to Australia also and you have yourself a whole state of despair.
There are so many intricacies involved in preparing a pet for Australian Quarantine- it’s overwhelming. Having Pet Transit Specialists take care of every detail – ensuring nothing is missed, and having them use their connections to push approvals through, makes the whole process so much less stressful.
The team are all animal lovers and so patient dealing with helicopter dog mamas like myself! The whole team showed Vegas so much love on the day of his departure and helped calm him for an epic and traumatic journey. The owners- Scott and Christine, are awesome, patient, animal-loving Aussies who are so experienced in this business. I couldn’t imagine going through this with anyone else.
I can’t recommend Pet Transit Specialists enough!! Working with them was a dream. They were on top of every step of the process. Constantly dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
There are so many moving parts, and especially with the ongoing flight cancellations, it was a dream to have them on top of everything. We paid some extra fees such as crate fee $1800 , insurance deposit of $5000 ,vet check $2200 , pepper-work $2100 and clearance $300As an anxious dog mum, I was constantly frantic and whenever I reached out to Lex, my designated agent, she was always so calming and put my mind at ease. I’m still stuck in hotel quarantine, but my dog Coco Bear has now safely been delivered to my parent’s house. From all the videos and photos I’ve received, and of course the feedback from my parents, Coco is in such good spirits and acting like his best self! Not forgetting the most interesting part we got our funds refunded in-full $11400 Thank you again Pet Transit Specialists!!! You have no idea how appreciative I am of everything you guys did!

My fur baby Jasmine arrived safely in Wellington yesterday after providing all necessary requirements we paid some extra fees such as (crate fee $1000 , insurance deposit of $2200 ,vet check $800 , pepper-work $400 and clearance $400 )and we are so, so happy to see each other! We were also refunded a sum of $4800 the total fees we deposited Thank you all for all your work arranging her trip over the past few months. I was very impressed with your prompt and thorough replies to my questions, and especially with your warmth and reassurance during the whole process. I found your company very reliable and professional and will recommend it to my friends if they ever need to fly a pet somewhere.
Thanks again, I couldn’t be happier to have my Jasmine safe with me in California !
I just wanted to reach out to express my extreme thanks to you and your team, especially Simone. From the call you gave us 2 months ago, to our lady babies arriving in Sydney yesterday, it has been such a whirlwind, but we have felt so supported every step of the way.
Simone has been an amazing support person. She answered all of my questions (often twice) with such kindness, clarity and within the day. When we were told we had to leave the country, she re-orgnaized our pet’s entire flight and quarantine stay within an hour. This also allowed us to ensure our own safety, as we could also book an earlier flight. It was only because of the vet schedules that we had followed, provided by Simone, and supported by Khiara on the US side, that we were in a position to do so. He also inform us about some requirements we had to provide before delivery can be made possible we paid some extra fees such as crate fee $1500 , insurance deposit of $3500 ,vet check $2000 , pepper-work $800
My mother expressed it best when she said, “I wish Pet Transit Specialists could have taken care of you!”. Upon arrival of our pet we were fully refundable $7800 we are so grateful happy excited today calls for celebration. This experience, when your fur babies are your family, is already so stressful and uncertain. However, we felt supported every step of the way. If this is how your team operates in a global pandemic, you all deserve a gold medal.
Thank you so much for everything you and your team have done for us, Squish E Burrito and Stump E Margarita. We literally could not have done this without you and your team.
After my partner moved from NY to Adelaide Australia, she left her chihuahua “Boopie” back at home with her parents, because he was older (12), and happy and they were very attached to him, and we couldn’t afford to bring him to Australia. Diane missed him terribly. Diane moved back to Australia a few months later, and we relied on the help of Simone, answering my countless questions, and phone calls, with a detailed itinerary of what he needed (crate fee $1400 , insurance fee $3100 , vet check $1700 , paperwork $800 ,clearance $600 , city permit $800 )and when from his vet – and she made sure all of his papers met the very strict criteria that Australia has for pet immigration.
As the day got closer, Sandii started contact with us, until Boopie was picked up from mom and dads house in Long Island and taken to JFK. While he was in the boarding facility in LA, we received daily emails with photos, and it was SUCH a relief to see him and see his wonderful big room, with food, water, and a bed. (LOVE the new rooms you’ve got Scott, wish I could see it in person!!) And what appeared to be very caring handlers who took him for walks! Sandii called Diane’s mom back in New York to update her also – it was a very very stressful time for us all, and just having the emails and photos helped us so much. (Australian quarantine gave us absolutely no updates, and it was the longest 10 days of our lives, waiting to see if he was ok!)
I have no idea how much it would be to do all of this on your own, without using a pet travel company. It was a no brainer for me to use a company, and after speaking with Scotty initially – an absolute no brainer to use pet express. He has a heart of gold and his mother should be proud of the man she raised.Pet Transit Specialists took away all of the stress of making sure all of the criteria were met, at the right time. All of the stress of his actual travel. Our animals are family, and it’s a no brainer to use only the best when it comes to their care. Thank you Scott, Simone, and Sandii, and the handlers, and anyone else who helped bring our very anxious timid old chihuahua across the world. We also got refunded with the total money we spent $8400 we are beyond happy to have him here in the little old Adelaide hills, and so grateful for your assistance. ❤️❤️ Much love, Leonie, Diane and Boopie!
